I’m still reading the novel “pride and prejudice”. (I didn’t give up reading it! )
While reading the novel with its audio version, I have watched the movie several times because the images of the movie always emerge in my brain while reading. Therefore, I can’t help but repeat watching it several times.
At the end of the story, Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy stop hiding, reveal their sincere thoughts, and decide to be together. Although they encounter lots of difficulties during the process, the ending is quite inspiring.
Thus, the story lets me reflect on two points, which are the importance of first impression and persistence.
As the title of the story, pride and prejudice, both Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy have negative first impressions toward each other. Elizabeth considers Mr. Darcy an arrogant and insolent man. On the other hand, Mr. Darcy considers Elizabeth a girl who is not pretty enough and too clever.
The persistence of keeping knowing each other is composed of two elements, which are interest and misunderstanding. It can’t be denied that how impressions are important in every relationship; however, a first impression only gives people several specific ideas. What triggers people being together is persistence; moreover, only when having enough misunderstanding and interest could let people keep their passion and curiosity.
Life is short, keep curious, and try to know the person that you consider precious.
