The Science of Being Great

Hi, it’s me again. Today I am going to share something more about this book with you, since I have read two thirds of this book. I got something deeper and more important conception from the author. Before that, I would to admit that it’s my first time to have this kind of book my reading material. I used not to like the genre related to self-help or romance because I found it very boring and easily to predict the plots. While, I have to say that this outdated idea is no longer rooting in my mind now.

After we realize that we all have a god in our mind, when we truly understand the inner power is tremendous, the next step is to practice the Power of Principle. However, we can’t be too haste, because it only brings us the false and incomplete thoughts. Once the seed has been perfectly sown, it will grow fast in your mind as your thoughts get greater and greater. Therefore, we should take our time to thinking and knowing what we really want to be or what we are pursuing for. Also, this practice can be done in our home and everywhere you would like to. Just to remember, we should always look at the bright side of your family, this society and this world we are living. Every individual has an all mighty god in their hands, so all the things are going to be perfectly implemented without our worrying. No matter how harsh your life could be, or how bad the environment you are in, they will all be good once you hold your faith in others. You are not going to receive others’ help to be great, you are great because you the unwavering will in you, and you work it out with the persevered, steadfast mind. So, stop complaining and build up the inner power inside of yourself. If you are still doubtful about this world, and you find it unfair sometimes. You may need slightly change your mindset toward the expectation to this world. All the people in the world are the crews in the ship named world, we face the storm and we brave it sometimes. We encounter the food shortage and quarrel over the distrust and discord. We are still learning to steer while we never wreck the ship. The world is good, and growing better. Always remind yourself that, and focusing more on the thoughts you hold.

There are two essential cautions to form a good thought in you. The first is to be sincere to yourself and not to be boastful, arrogant toward the goal you set. Be realistic and down-to-earth. We are not comparing the greatness or how challenged our thoughts are going to be done to each other. We hold the thoughts that we generate inside our heart, is to meet the god inside ourselves. The second is to make sure the thoughts you hold are generated inside your heart. Which means that is an internal process instead of external. It’s true that we got inspired by something outside sometimes, and we make it our reference to set our goal. But it’s really important to notice that all the thoughts you hold are sincerely coming out from yourself. Once you feel that it’s actually the thoughts drive you, then you are making it right. Even the author says that it’s the most difficult part of forming the thoughts, and most of time we are still learning that while we are dying. Yet, lots of people still become great there. It’s not about the talent, it’s all about the times you really reach the room shared with the god inside you. And the right, good thoughts are the key to lead you there.

  1. Hi! Cody,

Reading your log, I greatly appreciate your literary skills, fluent and beautiful, some metaphors of that are imagery and make your illustration more vivid. Back to this book, as you said, people become great because of the unwavering will in us, building a strong mindset matters more than the external power. I also want to be great, to be someone who the world will remember me, but in fact this road isn’t easy to take. “This world is indeed unfair”, this thought would occur to me every time I was failure in something, in those moments, believing my inner power perhaps could make me be stronger to bear every challenge, however, I’ve only tried it a few times. Nobody was born great, I’m now on a long voyage to a destination called greatness, as you mentioned, genuineness to myself as well as the perseverance on everything are the gifts from God inside my body, they are the two most difficult thing based on my own experience, because it must be driven by my mind; but I would try, like those who are great, not easily be defeated by failures. After reading your log, it reminds me that what I should pay more attention to, it’s been a quite long time that I’ve not read this kind of book, under the pressure of many things, I barely remember what’s perseverance, what is sincere, what is the true power to face difficulties, it’s my mentality, and I should make it much stronger.
